150 doctors and 150 pharmacists / PTAs took part in the survey for the Grippostad Cold Facts1:
A total of 97% of those questioned accept the typical side effects of a cold such as runny nose, sore throat or aching limbs and still appear in the practice or pharmacy.
More than half of them at least limit this by adding that they would probably stay at home if they had "really serious" complaints.
Just 3% cure a cold completely.
One reason for this is the pronounced sense of duty. A quarter of them feel uncomfortable about abandoning their patients or colleagues.
Another 16% of those questioned generally perceive a cold as "half as bad" and do not allow their symptoms to influence them any further.
