Baby facts: Did you know…?
New-born babies look gorgeous, but sometimes also rather funny. The soft spots on the front and back of their heads (called fontanelles) are there because they had to get through the birth canal. Also, their eyes might be shut, though once they open, they love looking at faces and will soon recognise their mum and dad!
Toddlers have small tummies and need lots of variety. So, to help them grow strong and healthy, it’s important to give them foods that are packed with nutrients, and avoid foods full of empty calories (like sweets and fizzy drinks).
