We are happy to spotlight our RA Manager! Tamara started as Regulatory Affairs (RA) Officer in 2020.
Since then, she has made great strides in her career. Get to know her better below!

What are the important milestones in your career since you started at EG, Tamara?

I had the opportunity during my first months at EG in 2020 to delve into the new medical device legislation and update Silikom artwork with it, this was in close cooperation with the colleagues from artworks and marketing. The new legislation means that the medical devices have to meet new (quality) requirements, for example, it is obligatory to mention that it concerns a medical device on the packaging, to mention important warnings, ...

The chance to find out everything myself in the legislation and the project management to coordinate everything within the established timings together with the other departments was extremely pleasant and instructive.

In June 2022, I was given the opportunity to become RA Manager. I was very grateful for this, a great next step in my career. So, I grabbed this opportunity with both hands!

In 2023, I started rolling out the implementation of QR codes with my team for an electronic package insert for food supplements, medicines, and medical devices. This will lead to fewer printed leaflets, and thus a more sustainable future. Something entirely within our Purpose 'Caring for People's Health as a Trusted Partner'! I can't wait until 2024 to see what else this project will bring.

I started at EG in 2020 as an RA Officer and was welcomed into a tremendously fun and warm Pharmaceutical Affairs (PA) team. This was right before the COVID period because a month after that we had to work completely from home. Immediately a first big challenge.

But I could always turn to my colleagues with my questions, and so my knowledge gradually grew.

In the RA team I learned everything about obtaining licenses for medicines, submitting dossiers for food supplements to the government agency, maintaining drug dossiers, updating package leaflets with the latest information, answering pharmaceutical-technical questions,...

I was responsible for my own product categories as EG has a large portfolio.

In June 2022, I was given the opportunity to become an RA Manager. Building a new RA team was a challenge as I was also taking my first steps in people management.

But is also enormously gratifying to see the RA team grow, I get a lot of satisfaction from this. Also the close cooperation and meetings with different departments make this role very enjoyable for me and make me gain even more insights into the company

Is there something that not everyone knows about you?

I love city trips, this gives me the chance to discover new cities, culture and people. I also enjoy planning the trips.

In my current role as RA Manager, planning/coordinating the different projects is very important. Also staying up to date with the latest legislation for medicines/food supplements/medical devices and discovering what the opportunities are (e.g. QR codes) is very challenging.
